We are very excited to now have post-natal “check ups” available.
It is a service that is massively missing in healthcare in Canterbury with many women having trouble returning to their pre-pregnancy levels and lacking the guidance to get there.
The process of pregnancy, giving birth and then looking after your baby is very demanding on your body. Even if you don’t feel injured or sore following giving birth, it is very beneficial to see a physio for a check-up, to make sure there are no muscle deficits or imbalances that could lead to trouble later on.
Our Post-natal Check up involves assessing for any muscle imbalances, explaining clearly the importance of pelvic and core control and teaching you how to safely train these muscles (keeping in mind your reduced time availability for exercising as a new mum!).
You will also be given a comprehensive handout with fantastic tips and advice to help you reach your goals.
This is perfect for any new mum, whether it be your first or fifth child and whether you just want to be able to lift your child or run a marathon = we will get you on track.
**Please note – we are not Women’s Health specialists and there will be no internal assessment during this session. We can refer you to Women’s Health physios if required
